It’s the summer of 2021, the COVID crazy times are still very much in force; although mainly in the larger cities at this time. Nancy and I decided to drive to my 50th High School reunion in Minnetonka Minnesota from our home in Kingsburg California. We left kingsburg in our Lexus 450H with our two dogs, a Uhaul trailer, a car luggage topper and pointed the car East. I had spent many weeks prior to venturing forth planning the route and booking motel rooms for each night of the trip. Booking rooms that would take dogs turned out to be a challenge and traveling with two dogs is not something to be planned or undertaken lightly. The trailer was filled full of stuff to deliver to our son Matt’s new house in Kansas and pulling a small Uhaul behind the car was easy and proved to be no problem although once in Kansas and unloaded it was a relief to get rid of. After leaving Matt’s house we wound our way up the Mississippi River valley to Duluth and then over to Itasca state park where the Mississippi River begins its journey and over to Fargo -(just for breakfast) so that Nancy could say she’d been to North Dakota. On the way back down to Minnetonka we stopped at Morey’s- I had worked there 40 years ago as the General Sales Manager and it was a fun trip down memory lane. I had actually lived in Motley for a couple of years and owned a house there which I couldn’t actually find. Motley is a very small town and hasn’t change that much so I was surprised not to be able to pick it out.
