I really was craving a good hearty beef stew and starting looking at the local ads for prices on Chuck Roast – WOW it’s around $9.99 at the local Walmarts, Costco’s and Save-marts – crazy – we generally buy most of our meat at Kingsburg Supermarket- they use Harris Ranch Beef and it’s always price competitively to most of the brand name stores around here locally. I was so happy when we when in and asked the butcher if they had Chuck Roast because I didn’t see any in the meat case – she walked me over to the side where they have the packaged meat and there is was; nice big Chuck Roast. I asked her if she could cut one up for me and of course she was happy to do so – $6.49 per pound. Yes we are having Beef Stew today and on and off all week
